Tuesday: Writer’s Workshop – Be prepared to work on thesis statement for expository essay

Wednesday: Be prepared to work on speeches. Last day to change your speeches.

Thursday: Literature Response: Journal (Must be about a book you are reading or have completed) – 3 dated entries of 2-3 sentences – double spaced – preferable on computer, but if not possible written out either cursive or printing is acceptable, but please double space! (Refer to your author’s folder for directions on how to do a Journal) Due 2/12

Third Period – Literature response should be to a recent read, like Across Five Aprils, but it could be another book you have read

Fourth Period – Literature response needs to be book you have finished. If you have finished Rifles for Watie you can write the Book Review, but if not use another book.
Read up to chapter 20 in Rifles for Watie – due 2/12.
