These logs need to be signed by your parents and will count for roll-over for 4th quarter (no journals required).

Book boards are due 3/19 for those doing the modified journals.

5/8 Etymology: We will continue reviewing words we have learned.

2/5 Homework

7/8 Bible: Quiz over pledge and 2 Cor. 10:4-5;  Observations and Interpretation questions.

One Publication due for 3rd Quarter!

Due to a number of factors this quarter, the main factor being the students’ Science Fair Projects, students will be required to do only one publication. This publication will need to be 4-5 pages long for 5/6 and 5-6 pages for 7/8, and the idea will be the subject they have already been working on. Their topic of what they would want to change in the world.

First Draft: 2/22 (Note the change!)

Peer Edit: 2/28

Second Draft(Parent Edit): 3/7

Teacher Edit: 3/14

Publication: 3/19

2/4 Homework

7/8 Bible and 5/8 Eng, Lit, Etym.: Read your scripture passage that you have chosen for your story about something you want to change in your world three times. Each reading observe the passage and write down as many things as you see. Keep in mind how these observations may play into your story.

E.g. For instance your story might be to eliminate poverty in the world, and you have chosen the passage: Luke 12:13-32 and I am focusing on verse 15 - “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” — In this passage I might note the words “greed” and “abundance,” because they could relate to my story on eliminating poverty. I might believe that these key words will relate to my topic of poverty in some way.

So as you are observing your passages focus mainly on things that are going to relate to your story.

Use your appendix F and any other Bible study helps we have used in the past.

I am going to award team points to the persons who come up with the most observations and also for the most variety of observations.

E.g. Key words, repetitions, literary devices, setting, key characters etc.
