“Pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. An pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.” 2 Thess 3:1-5 TNIV

Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:6
Castronovo and Chaffee families
“Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven’t stopped praying for you, asking God to give (you) - Alex, David, Felicia, Brie, Morgan, Tyler, Grace, Krista, Linde, Faith, Britt, Ari, Jenna R, Evan, JC, Kelly, Jon, and Geddy wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. We pray that you’ll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. We pray that you’ll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul – not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.” Colossians 1:9-12 (The Message)
“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill (you) Alex, David, Felicia, Brie, Morgan, Tyler, Grace, Krista, Linde, Faith, Britt, Ari, Jenna R, Evan, JC, Kelly, Jon, and Geddy with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.” Colossians 1:9-12 (NIV)
Praying back God’s word is the most powerful prayer you can pray!
This morning I prayed a prayer for all of you from Eph. 3:14-21. I would like you to on occasion pray this for your classmates as I prayed it for you. Substitute the “you” in the passage with your classmates names.
This time I will pray it using the Message paraphrase:
My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen (you) — Alex, David, Felicia, Brie, Morgan, Tyler, Grace, Krista, Linde, Faith, Britt, Ari, Jenna R, Evan, JC, Kelly, Jon, and Geddy by his Spirit — not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength — that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, Alex, David, Felicia, Brie, Morgan, Tyler, Grace, Krista, Linde, Faith, Britt, Ari, Jenna R, Evan, JC, Kelly, Jon, and Geddy will be able to to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.
God can do anything, you know — far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.
Glory to God in the Church!
Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus!
Glory down all the generations!
Glory through all millennia! Oh, Yes!
Prayer is one of our priorities as followers of Christ, and yet it often gets neglected. One of my goals each morning is to make prayer a priority. I’ve noticed that our prayers have been weak of late, and so I have added this category. Each morning are priorities will be as follows:
Mon. A time of listening for God’s small still voice. A time to silently and privately get right with God to start the week off well.
Tue. Prayer for the sick and hurting in our lives.
Wed. Prayer for the lost and all those seeking to find the lost (missions and missionaries) Our Mission trip to Mexico!
Thur. Praise and Thanksgiving to prepare for Chapel
Fri. Prayer for leaders here and around the world.
I will always welcome crisis prayers each day, but each day we will concentrate on these priorities. Students can post prayer requests at any time by emailing me or leaving a comment.
I will also be posting prayer thoughts and helps in this category also.
